So i have a Lords of the New Church poster of a concert that they did on March 29, 1986 at a place called Fenders Long Beach. and it says w Special Guest Guns and Roses. Am i the only one that thinks that is a weird bill?

    "Old poster I have"
    "Interesting juxtaposition it is"
(Apologies for ill-advised Yoda impression hehe)

Funny in hindsight as to how bands careers develop. Watching early footage of '86 GNR shows it's hard to believe that they would be one of the biggest acts on the planet one day.
They were absolutely amazing back in '86! Very Hanoi Rocks orientated!

I live in California and I know Fender's pretty well. It's called "Fenders Ballroom". I saw Guns n' Roses open for Cheap Trick there in 1986 I believe. It's a hole in the wall. I don't think it's weird that they played together cause at that point in time GNR wanted to play with just about anyone. I'm still rather baffled by how and why GNR ever made it big.... they suck live!

<font size="4" face="Arial">You after the Lords part of it, or the GnR part? You should see my Lords posters. I should take a picture of them and post them on the pictures thread. Really killer looking.

Al...would you like to donate that poster to me??? I have two Lords posters from the "Sacred" tour in the UK and the "Madness" tour. Both are about 6'x4'!!! AMAZING posters sent to me by my editor. Even my wife was amazed at how cool (and HUGE) they are!!!

But no, I don't think that bill is all that weird. Both bands were HUGELY influenced by The Stones, and were both more of less pure RnR. Just one had a terrible vocalist named Axl, and the other had a God named Stiv.

<font size="4" face="Arial">I was always wondering where this place was. As for GNR live, i saw the one concert that was on MTV, Axl's voice is not great live but the rest worked for me.
